United Way of Greater Greensboro 2026–27 Grant

Intent to Apply: January 16

United Way of Greater Greensboro invests in community partnerships that help individuals and families overcome poverty, access opportunities, and move toward lasting stability. Our grantmaking aligns with
United Way Worldwide’s impact pillars—Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Healthy Communities—and supports programs that strengthen a thriving Greensboro.

For the 2026–27 grant cycle, UWGG offers two competitive funding opportunities for nonprofit organizations serving Greater Greensboro: Bold Goal Grants and Community Impact Grants.

Women’s Professional Forum Foundation Grant Program

Due January 31

The WPFF grant cycle opens each fall and closes on January 31. A Grants Committee, comprised of WPF members, reviews all applications and makes recommendations to the Board, which selects grant recipients at its March meeting.

Award notifications are sent in spring, and grant funds are typically disbursed in April or May. Organizations should plan to use grant funds within 12 months of receipt. Progress reports are due in December and June.

What We Fund

WPFF grants support programs and organizations that empower women and girls in one or more of these focus areas:

– Opportunities for women and girls to aspire to or further their careers
– Education and leadership development for women and girls
– Education of the public on the status and rights of women
– Recognition of achievements and contributions of women

City of High Point Grant

Due January 30

The City of High Point grants funding to Non-Profit Organizations which assist the City in carrying out its mission and strategic plan in support of vital community services.  Organizations can apply for grants as part of the City's budget which takes effect each July 1.  The application process is competitive, and not all applicants will be awarded funding.

The Non-Profit applications are evaluated by the City of High Point Finance Committee. Recommendations for funding will be forwarded to the City Council for consideration.  The City Council takes final action on the funding requests as part of the annual budget adoption process.

Below are important dates for the FY 2026-27 application process:

January 5: Application window opens

January 14: Technical Workshop

January 30: Application deadline

Applications are to be completed and submitted by the deadline to be considered for FY26/27 funding year.

Earl and Kathryn Congdon Family Foundation

Due January 31

The Earl and Kathryn Congdon Family Foundation will accept grant applications to build the capacity of 501c3 public charities that serve the Greater High Point area.

The foundation awards ten new grants each year as part of its Capacity Building Grants Program. Each grant is for $30,000 and is renewable for up to three years. Thus, each grant totals $90,000 over the life of the grant.

Grant requests this year are restricted to projects focused on “economic development,” which is one of the foundation’s three focus areas. When the foundation funds economic development, it funds both capital investments in the infrastructure needed for a vibrant community and it funds the workforce development opportunities individuals need to contribute to our growing economy.

Due March 6

Each year, Guilford County provides funds to a variety of dedicated community organizations meeting the definition of a 501(c) nonprofit to facilitate economically, culturally, and civically valuable services. These services are designated as carrying out a public purpose by North Carolina statute, and include community and youth development, education, and support for cultural and artistic activities.

Applying for Funding

The funding application period will open January 30, 2026. Please check back for the application link.

The County conducts a competitive process to distribute the funding, with a standard application and training required for all applicants requesting resources. Funds are awarded for each fiscal year (FY), although an award in one year is not a guarantee of funding in future funding cycles. Applications seeking to fund traditional economic-focused activities, such as job creation, might require a public hearing and review process prior to award based on requirements set out in North Carolina G.S. 158-7.1.
